We are located in Canton, Ohio and ship water garden plants and pond supplies in all 50 states. We strive for excellent customer service. My name is Barb and my sister’s name is Joan and we are the proud owners of Dragonfly Aquatics Retail and Wholesale Pond Store.
I have had a pond for almost 25 years now. I wanted a pond about 20 ft by 12ft and about 3 ft deep. But my husband, who is in construction, of couse had to use his backhoe to dig the hole and guess what? The pond became bigger and deeper. I made it work creating a waterfall by using rocks and a pump. This was before ponds became so popular and the preformed water skimmers and waterfalls weren’t on the market yet. We purchased liner from Firestone Rubber. Thus, I had my first pond! A few years later a skimmer and waterfall were purchased and we started again. My how this changed things. There was a local plant store that finally opened and I was in business. Things began then. We decided my sister needed one and purchased a preformed small pond for her and my husband began digging again. By hand this time….a backhoe wouldn’t fit in her yard. Lucky for her! We had so much fun purchasing plants and trying to out do each other.
Since then I have redone my pond several times and a couple years ago added a bog area. Now my sister bought a new house, so of course……she put in a larger pond! I think she wanted one bigger than mine, but who knows I just might redo mine again! It’s that competitive sister thing.
We both found that we enjoyed our ponds so much, that we wanted to start a business sharing our ideas and selling the best plants we could. We then started our business, Dragonfly Aquatics. We’re here to help anyone wanting information on ponds. We do create a ponds on our site. If you give us the width, length and depth of your pond, shade, sun, whatever, we help you to create the pond you want.
Our goal is to share as much information as we can to help serve our customers. We take alot of pride in our business and want our customers to be satisfied. We will not sell you a plant that we wouldn’t put in our ponds! Only the best! If you are not happy, we want to hear from you.
We decided this year to create a blog where we can share information with you and you can share information with others. Post pictures, share ideas, ask questions and take advantage of specials we run. Whatever you want to know about, let us know. We’d like to feature a pond weekly, so submit your pictures and win something! Whether it’s a free plant, free shipping on your order or a gift certificate…..we’re not sure yet.
